Our association „Viele Kulturen - Eine Stadt“, which has been in existence for over 30 years and formerly operated under the name „Neustadt gegen Fremdenhass“, is committed to equal and respectful coexistence for all people. As a non-partisan and independent association, we see ourselves as a cooperation partner for intercultural groups, organizations and initiatives, particularly in the areas of anti-racism and anti-discrimination work and the promotion of democracy
We want to promote a society in which all people can live together freely and respectfully without prejudice. To this end, we offer space for encounters that overcome cultural boundaries and create a deeper understanding of one another.
We use publications, public events and lobbying to raise awareness of discrimination and promote a culture of recognition and appreciation. With the new name „Viele Kulturen - Eine Stadt“, we want to send a strong signal for cohesion and diversity.
Our work focuses on the following goals:
- Building an open, supportive community in which diversity is seen as a strength
- The promotion of intercultural exchange and cultural diversity.
- Educational work to prevent discrimination and racism.
- Strengthening democratic values and participation.
We realize our goals through:
- Making discrimination visible and creating a culture of appreciation - through educational programs, public events, publications and targeted lobbying.
- Networking and cooperation with municipal actors in the field of anti-discrimination.
- Empowerment and support for people who experience discrimination.
